An Interview With joebringsthenoise

In this interview I talk to @joebringsthenoise all about music, vinyl and metal.

Why did you decide to start a vinyl themed Instagram?

I wanted to have a space where I could share my records and connect with other collectors, it’s also a great source of inspiration.

I train a lot and complete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so my personal account is full of that. It’s nice to jump on this page and just get lost musically.

How long have you been collecting records and how many do you have in your collection?

I got my first record when I was 16 but I  started collecting properly about 18 months ago. I think I now have nearly 200 last time I checked.

What’s your favourite vinyl you own and what is your holy grail?

That’s a tough one, my favourite is probably either Oasis – Definitely Maybe or Appetite for destruction by GNR, not collectibles or anything just two classics that I play loads.

My holy grail is the original pressing of Mötley Crüe’s debut album ‘Too Fast For Love’ released on their own label Leathür records, only 900 were made and it features a track that never appeared in the label release until a reissue 30 years later. I’ll have it one day…

Who’s in your top five of favourite bands?

Mötley Crüe, Oasis, Guns n Roses, The Specials and Queens of the Stone Age. The order changes every day I’m sure.

If you could have dinner with any musician from any time who would it be and why?

I think it would have to be David Bowie. He just transcends decades, genres and probably even dimensions, would be amazing to hear about it all.

If we are talking drinks though it would have to be Guns N Roses on The sunset strip in ‘88!

How long have you been been playing guitar?

I’ve been placing Bass for about 15 years now, I still love it. I’m currently playing in a Metal band called Iron Reign (@ironreignband), we’ll be releasing some Music in the summer hopefully.

Any recommendations on movies, tv shows or music?

I’m currently watching The Last Dance about the Chicago Bulls. It’s incredible. I love learning about mental toughness and this docuseries is a good insight into one of the best sports teams of all time.

New music it’s got to be Kid Kapichi (@kidkapichi) a local band that are tearing up the Uk and Europe, they have a new single out on the 5th May.

To be fair having a two year old the only movies I’ve watched recently consist of talking cars and fish!
