Freddie Mercury the lead singer of Queen defies stereotypes and convention to become one of history’s most beloved entertainers. The bands revolutionary sound and popular songs lead to Queen’s meteoric rise in the 1970’s. After leaving the group to pursue a solo career, Mercury reunites with Queen for the concert benefit concert Live Aid resulting in one of the greatest performances in rock n roll history.
I know this isn’t a new movie but I’ve recently just got around to watching it, I know where’ve I been right? I wanted to see it when it came out but never got round to it, I wish I did now. This movie is everything it was hyped up to be and Rami Malek was a worthy Oscar winner with his performance as Freddie Mercury.
The movie is a must see not just for Queen fans but for all music fans. The story of how they met, the music they made and how they changed the world is amazing. Freddie Mercury had to deal with family issues, a new relationship with Mary and realising he was gay, while becoming a huge star with Queen. You see all the inner turmoil of his struggles and musical genius come to be. The movie shows how the band became huge and made some of the biggest songs ever made. It all ends with Freddie Mercury getting the band back together to perform at Live Aid which went down as one of the greatest rock performances of all time and cemented Freddie Mercury as arguably one of, if not the greatest frontman of all time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of five stars.
